Authentic Marcel Breuer for Knoll Wassily Chair

800.00

Originally created in 1925 by Marcel Breuer as part of the Bauhaus movement, and drawing inspiration from his bicycle's steel handlebars, architect and furniture make Breuer designed the B-3 (later known as the Wassily chair) for Thonet , later to have it picked up by Knoll in the 1960s after the originally fabric seats had been switched to leather. Constructed in Breuer's preferred medium of tubular steel, the Wassily chair is a true classic of twentieth century design and its busy but orderly, De-Stijl arrangement of lines and and shapes still resonates with futurist energy today. This particular Knoll produced vintage model is in great shape, with spotless metal and the seat, back and arms holding quite strong. Bring home this timeless- and affordable- classic today!

Measures 31"w x 26"d x 29"h.
